Position Overview
This is a full-time position located in Cleveland County.

The CDL Driver plays a vital role in Cleveland County operations by safely operating commercial vehicles to transport materials, equipment, or personnel to designated locations. This position requires adherence to all safety protocols and regulations while ensuring timely and efficient delivery or completion of assigned tasks.

Compensation
  • $41,870.00.

Knowledge and Skills
  • Proficient in operating commercial vehicles and adhering to CDL regulations.
  • Knowledge of vehicle maintenance and inspection requirements.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
  • Strong understanding of safety procedures and hazard recognition.
  • Ability to perform basic math for load calculations and record-keeping.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.

Vehicle Operation and Maintenance:
  • Operate commercial vehicles, including dump trucks, flatbeds, or other equipment, to transport materials, supplies, and equipment.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles, ensuring compliance with safety standards and reporting maintenance needs promptly.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as checking oil, fuel, tires, and other vehicle components.
Transportation and Logistics:
  • Safely load, secure, and transport materials or equipment to job sites or designated locations.
  • Ensure proper unloading of materials in compliance with instructions or project requirements.
  • Maintain accurate transportation logs and documentation as required by county policies and regulations.
Road and Site Operations:
  • Assist road crew teams with material delivery and on-site operations, including hauling gravel, dirt, or other materials for road maintenance or construction projects.
  • Support snow and ice removal operations during inclement weather using plows or sanding equipment.
  • Participate in roadside cleanup and debris removal tasks as needed.
Compliance and Safety:
  • Follow all local, state, and federal driving regulations, including CDL-specific requirements.
  • Adherent to Cleveland County’s safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Ensure compliance with environmental and hazardous materials handling procedures.
Team Collaboration
  • Work closely with supervisors and team members to coordinate deliveries and prioritize tasks.
  • Provide support to other departments or projects as directed.
