Compensation
- $65,000.00 - $80,000.00
Essential Functions
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Manages and motivates personnel by encouraging a team effort by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; developing, coordinating and enforcing systems, policies, procedures, and productivity standards.
- Responsible for making recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners for improvements and/or expansion of facilities.
- Prepares and presents all reports as required by the Cleveland County Board for County Commissioners and the Cleveland County Fair Board. Works as a liaison between the Board of County Commissioners and the Fair Board.
- Attend all Cleveland County Board of County Commissioner meetings, when practical.
- Prepares and presents for approval fairgrounds-related grants.
- Serves as the fairground’s applicant with state and federal agencies in and for grant writing, grant administration and special project management. Interacts directly with contractors, service and goods providers; negotiates project and material costs.
- Maintains Open Public Meetings and Public Disclosure Acts process, contract requirements, grant writing and administration. Serves as Cleveland County Board of County Commissioners and Cleveland County Fair Board representative at meetings functions related to the fairgrounds.
- Prepares annual budget, including scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions. Maintains operational records and prepares monthly reports on activities and costs. Responds to grounds user complaints, or concerns related to facility care, clean up, etc. and sets up , or arranges special activities.
- Responds readily to inquiries from the public, clients, and vendors regarding fairgrounds programs and activities.
- Maintains property inventory
- Prepares payroll for employees at the fairgrounds to include keeping an accrued and used time on each employee.
- Acts as Requisition Officer, approves requisitions and submits them to the County Clerk’s office.
- Performs related duties as assigned.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions
- Physical Demands: The employee must frequently lift and/or move and walk with up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distant vision, color vision peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Must have ability to pay close attention to detail. Ability to maintain regular, predictable and punctual attendance. Must be able to walk distances on both smooth and uneven surfaces in all weather conditions; no all sites may be wheelchair accessible.
- Working Conditions: Administrative work conducted in an office environment will include frequent exposure to dirt, dust, noise and extreme temperatures.
- Supervision Exercised: This position is responsible for the supervision and leadership of employees, which includes making employment-related decisions and/or recommendations, and formally evaluating performance.
- Compliance and Safety: The employee shall be knowledgeable and follow Cleveland County’s safety policies and procedures. The employee must immediately report any accidents, unusual occurrences, or any other safety-related issues to his/her supervisor.
- The equivalent of two years of college level coursework in accounting, data processing, marketing, business related fields. Preferred bachelor's degree in a related area.
- Must have a valid Oklahoma driver's license.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and interact with several abstract and concrete variables.
